Onam, the vibrant festival of Kerala, was celebrated with great enthusiasm and zest at Universal School. The campus was abuzz with joy as students, staff, and teachers came together to honor this traditional festival, showcasing the rich cultural heritage of Kerala.
A special assembly marked the commencement of the celebrations, with students donning green school uniforms, exuding a sense of unity and pride. The highlight of the event was the beautiful floral arrangement – a captivating Pookalam – adorning the center of the hall, meticulously crafted by the students. Their creativity and teamwork were evident as they contributed to the stunning design, using a variety of vibrant flowers.
A traditional lamp lighting ceremony was performed by one of our esteemed teachers, bringing in the spirit of prosperity and happiness. The students were not just spectators but actively engaged in various cultural performances, ranging from traditional dance forms to delightful renditions of Onam songs.
This year’s celebration also highlighted the importance of community and family, as the school encouraged students to learn more about the festival’s significance and the values it upholds—unity, harmony, and the joy of giving.
